Saturday was spent driving to Maclean and then Yamba.
I was desperate to get out of the house!!! I really can’t wait to get my car back. So Saturday morning everyone was instructed that we were going to go for a lovely long drive. You can imagine the excitement coming from the kids. ‘oh, yeah, how exciting! oh mum I’ve always wanted to go for a lovely scenic drive!!…’ etc etc
Well after getting over the overwhelming excitement and yahooing coming from the back of the car we set off.
The only thing that Josh and Sammy were really interested in of course was finding a place to spend their money. It of course was wanting to be spent. We then had a short sermon on the importance of saving for a car, for a much wanted toy, for something, anything that would give them a better understanding of money. ‘Yawn, yawn’ came the quiet reply along with a much quieter rolling of the eyes!! Josh ended up keeping his money and Sammy bought a pink fluffly poodle.
So our trip continued, now with a pink attack poodle. Attack I hear you say, why? Well Sammy decided that the lovely pink poodle wanted to kiss Joshua passionately on the head VERY VERY ROUGHLY!! This of course ended in tears. ‘Josh won’t let my poodle give him a kiss’
Well on with the trip…We then went onto Yamba and were all unfortunately over seeing sugar-cane fields including Isabella who has her own agenda. She seems to decide when it is time for a toilet break or a drink or a snack or another meal. The trip home was much longer than the trip there!
All in all an adventure of sorts. But of course not the one we had planned. It was though a chance to get out of the house.
